Your Choir Heard Online!?Date: August 23, 2010
How would you like to have a recording of your choir online?
I have the following songs on my sibeliusmusic.com music page. (and have advertised them in the "New Print Publications" of choralnet) They each have an mp3 available but, as some of you know, the voices are synthesized by a computer. Great intonation and rhythm but definitely lacking in warmth and pronunciation. What I propose is a contest. Send me an mp3 of your choir or quartet performing one of these songs. I will pick what I think is the best one and replace the synth choir with your choir's rendition and an acknowledgment of your group in the song description. By your submission you would be giving me permission to post your song and by my posting it, I would be giving you permission to have your group singing my song posted online. (I believe that you cannot put a performance online without the permission of the copyright holder). Those of you who have already purchased the music would NOT have to repurchase it. Those who have not yet purchased the music would have purchase it to participate but, since it’s a “buy one- print what you need transaction- it’s not that expensive.” Personally, I kind of like the synth voices, but I though this might be fun! Rob K Songs with synthesized choir. The Day that Jesus Died-SAB and Piano Pink Flamingos Male Quartet He(She) Looks Like Me- Male Quarter Lord, the Mountains Sing Your Glory SATB Piano The Final Day of School SATB + Piano Actually, you could do any of the others too, and I’d be happy to plug in the winner!
