New Domionion Chorle, under the leadership of its founder and Artistic Director Thiomas Beveridge, inaugurates its 20th season with a program of great opera choruses. On Sunday, October 24, at 4 p.m., the Chorale will join forces with Bel Cantanti Opera Company, whose Artistic Director, Katerina Souvorova, will provide the piano accompaniment. The concert will include famous opera choruses and will feature soloists who perform with the Metropolitan Opera Company, including Shannon Roberts, soprano; Kevin Courtemanche, tenor; and Mikhail Syetlov, bass. Among the works to be performed: "TheEaster Hymn" from Mascagni's Cavaleria Rusticana; the Coronation Scene from Moussorgsky's Boris Godunov; "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's Turandot,; "Va, Pensiero," from Verdi's Nabucco, and the entire last scene of Gounod's Faust.
The concert will take place at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall on the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Communitiy College, 3001 N.
