Dr. Tim Sharp, our ACDA Executive Director, made a good point at the National Leadership Conference in Chicago this summer when discussing collaborations and efforts that have worked in other organizations.  TIm discussed the National Anthem Project of MENC, which has focused on encouraging the singing of the National Anthem.  When I was in school growing up, there was an emphasis to sing the National Anthem at events.  This was during the 1960-70s, a tumultuous time for our countyr, but many people at events would indeed sing the National Anthem in the crowds.  What can ACDA, NHACDA, do to further this goal?  Many don't know the words, the history behind it, and many think that it has to be "jazzed up."
