Beyond images, learn specific vocal techniques for the choral rehearsal using simple, unambiguous anatomical terms: • Vocal “Figures” that work for training voice like compulsory figures do for skaters • “Anchoring” for focusing the right amount of energy without constriction (a little air can go a long way!) • Strategies for balancing different register qualities between vocal parts • Vocal recipes for broadening your range of vocal color for different musical genres • Healthy exercises for choral students who also sing musical theater, pop, opera or other musical styles Conductors and singers will experience a wide range of healthful voice qualities and apply them to a variety of musical styles.
Participants are invited to sing with the workshop “lab” choir, the Bucks County Choral Society.
Fee: $50; $25 for students
