J.S.Bach: Christmas Oratorio
Event Date: November 27, 2010
Posted: October 16, 2010
Choir type: Community Choirs
Saturday November 27th, 2010, 7.30 pm
Newcastle Bach Choir always gives a concert of works by JSB every season. It's either one of the major works, or a clutch of cantatas. This year it's both! The Christmas Oratorio consists of 6 cantatas covering the feasts of Christmas & New Year. We have a stellar line-up of vocal soloists, and also, so vital in Bach's music, equally distinguished instrumentalists - Tony Robson, arguably the greatest living Baroque oboist, with James Eastaway, Richard Fomison on trumpet; Rodolfo Richter leads Newcastle Baroque.
With Joanne Lunn - soprano, James Laing - countertenor, Joseph Cornwell - tenor, Peter Harvey - bass
King's Hall, Newcastle University
Conducted by Eric Cross
