OCDA Executive Board Meeting

July 10, 2010
 
  1. Charla Dedmon called the meeting to order at 6:10pm.  Members present were:  Charla Dedmon,
Darla Eshelman, Lisa Cullison, Ramona Cummings, Brent Ballweg, Mark Lucas, Paula Kiner, Darin Chapin, Tony Gonzales, Mark Powell, Doris Lambert, Ginger Meyer, Wes Singleton, Ralph Duncan, Randa Mitchell.
 
  1. Welcome and Introductions
Paula Kiner was introduced as the new Northwest Representative;  David DeSeguirant was not able to be present but was noted as the incoming Southeast Representative.
 
  1. Minutes from the March board meeting were discussed.  A motion was made to approve the
minutes by Lisa Cullison, seconded by Doris Lambert.  Minutes approved.
 
  1. Special Report:  Brent Ballweg discussed new website opportunities through ACDA.  Darin
Chapin made a motion to move the OCDA website to the ACDA ChoralNet communities section, seconded by Mark Lucas.  Motion approved.
 
  1. Ramona Cummings reported the current balance as $38,065.87
 
  1. 2010 Summer Convention
  2. Charla reminded board members that we voted to increase the clinician fee to $650 at the last meeting.
  3. Discussion of revised jazz chorus rules & regulations – to be presented to the membership at convention.

B.           Winter:         Friday, January 14, 2011                  10:00am    Cox Convention Center, OKC

  1. Future Convention and Festival Dates
  2. 2011 Summer Convention:  Sunday, July 10-12 at OU.
  3. The Postal Training Center in Norman was discussed as a possible 2012 All-OCDA site.  It was agreed that this venue would not be pursued.  It was noted that reservations and contracts need to be secured as soon as possible for the 2012 festival site.
  4. 2011 All-OCDA Festival January 13-15, Cox Convention Center
  5. Discussion of audition sites:  mileage will be paid for judges traveling more than 100 miles (those who are working all day);  meals are provided at the site.  Wes Singleton made a motion to approve, seconded by Ralph Duncan.  Motion approved.
  6. Consistency in audition tallying for each quad:  discussion of number of people assigned to tallying.  Ginger Meyer was appointed by Charla Dedmon to look into this issue.
