YOU'RE INVITED!
Please consider this your invitation to come celebrate the completion of "Noopiming", an exciting new choral work by Mike Olson. Full details about this piece and the party are available at www.mikeolsonmusic.com.
The event will be held at Open Eye Figure Theatre, located at 506 E. 24th street in South Minneapolis. Information about this venue is available at www.openeyetheatre.org.
Noopiming is an Ojibwe word, which translates as "in the North, inland, in the woods", and the aesthetic center of this striking new choral work evokes the primordial power and beauty of the deep forests of Northeastern Minnesota - specifically, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. The project also incorporates stunning photographic imagery of this region by Dale Robert Klous, which has been synchronized with the music to create a synergistic harmony of the two mediums.
There will be multiple screenings of the finished work over the course of the evening, so don't worry if you can't make it right at 7pm.
Noopiming is a fascinating, unconventional yet beautiful piece of a cappella vocal music, featuring a group of professional singers drawn together specifically for this project from our rich pool of local talent.
Come - Eat - Drink - Socialize - and check out something new in the world of choral music.
