Cappella Romana presents
THE BODILESS POWERS: Angelic Song in Byzantine Chant

"Chant" is more than "Gregorian", and this concert will prove that other chant traditions are at least as compelling, if not more so. Byzantine chant is a robust form of choral expression and is the standard form of singing in the Greek Orthodox churches around the world. San Francisco singer John Michael Boyer, who got his start in Portland and sang a solo in the film Mr. Holland's Opus, leads the ensemble, made up of Byzantine chant specialists from around the country. Sung in ancient Byzantine Greek and English.
