Posted: November 11, 2010
Location: Oregon, USA
Choir type: Children's and Youth Choirs
If you're looking for a domestic tour destination to rival the finest treble festivals anywhere, PICCFEST is it. And due to a late cancellation, the renowned Pacific International Children's Choir Festival now has room for another choir in June 2011.
That means there's still time to get an application in for PICCFEST 2011, June 21-27. Located in Oregon’s breathtaking southern Willamette Valley, the festival takes place on and around the beautiful University of Oregon campus and Eugene’s Hult Center for the Performing Arts, home of the world-renowned Oregon Bach Festival.
Thirteen years of extraordinary guest conductors, fabulous performances, and a roster of 100+ participating choirs has garnered the praise of singers, their conductors and tour chaperones who call it “life-changing” and “the most amazing week of my life so far."
Guest conductor Sandra Snow will lead the combined Festival Chorus and workshops with each individual choir. The combination of PICCFEST and the Oregon Bach Festival creates this one-of-a-kind event filled with inspiring rehearsals, at least two performances by each participating choir, performances of the combined Festival Chorus, and a welcoming environment that leaves participants asking, “When can we come back?!”
Act quickly to reserve the remaining space. Download an application at www.piccfest.org. Participant fee includes all festival activities, including 6 nights double occupancy lodging, all meals, festival t-shirt, recreation, ground transportation and admission to the Oregon Bach Festival opening night concert featuring Yo-Yo Ma.
