Ken Malucelli, award-winning, ASCAP-affiliated composer-arranger, presents the 16-voice, piano-4-hands ensemble, P-S-F-S (Prince SF Singers) in an evening of his sacred choral music and holiday arrangements, including several premieres.
His works have been performed by Grammy-winning ensembles San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Chanticleer and SF Boys Chorus, as well as San Francisco Opera Chorus, Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale, Pacific Mozart Ensemble, Sanford Dole Ensemble, SF Girls Chorus, Ragazzi Peninsula Boys Chorus, various artists abroad, and premiered and recorded by Chanticleer, SF Choral Artists, Phoenix Chamber Choir (Vancouver, BC) and MOCC, his Merrie Olde Christmas Carolers (world's largest costumed caroling organization: www.tmocc.com).
Members of P-S-F-S have performed with Berlin Philharmonic; Stuttgart Opera; SF Opera and Symphony Choruses; Opera San Jose; West Bay, Berkeley and Pocket Operas; Chanticleer; American Bach Soloists; California Bach Society; Carmel Bach Festival; Philharmonia Baroque; TheatreWorks; Lamplighters; Lyric Theatre of San Jose; Pacific Mozart Ensemble; 42nd St. Moon and other notable organizations.
Featured on the 1-hour program will be the premiere of Malucelli’s setting of the classic holiday poem “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” set to melodies of beloved carols and ending with a spoof of the opening chorus of “Magnificat” in D, by Johann Sebastian Bach.
