Escape to...A Child's Christmas - Oak Brook & Naperville, IL
Date: November 17, 2010
Location: Illinois, USA
Choir type: Community Choirs
Acappellago, led by music director, Dennis R. Smith, announces its annual holiday concerts. Join Acappellago for a musical celebration of Christmas as seen through the eyes of children. From favorite carols and lullabies, to dances and games, Christmas trees, Nativity scenes and pageants, these things are bound to bring out the child in all of us! Hear "The Voice of the Child," do a "New Dance for the Sugar Plum Fairy" (with lyrics by Amy Engelhardt of the Bobs!) and jingle those "Elves Bells," a Chicago premiere written by award winning Canadian composer, Stephen Chatman. Don't wait until it's "Past Three a Clock" to order your tickets for Acappellago’s popular Christmas concerts!
The Saturday evening performance of “Escape to…A Child’s Christmas” will be held on December 4, 2010, at 7:30 pm in the Event Hall at Mayslake Peabody Estate, 1717 W. 31st Street, Oak Brook. This program will be repeated on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 4:00 pm at the Naperville Congregational Church, 1 Bunting Lane, Naperville, on the southwest corner of 75th and Washington Streets. The concerts feature a wide variety of a cappella styles celebrating the Child of Christmas as well as childhood memories. Acappellago will accept donations at both performances of new hats, gloves, mittens and scarves to be donated to the Wayside Cross Ministry of Aurora.
