Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned summer arts day camp, will hold an Open House on Sunday December 5 from 11 AM to 2 PM at its magnificent  200-acre woodland campus in the Huntington area of Long Island.  Usdan's more than 40 programs in the arts includes Junior and Senior Choruses, and recent public performances have featured the children's opera "Brundibar," and Ernest Bloch's rarely-performed "Sacred Service" with distinguished professional conductors and soloists.
Call (631) 643-7900, or (212) 772-6060, or write to, or visit
Usdan Center, now entering its 44th season, is annually attended by 1500 children ages 6-18 from throughout New York's Tri-State Area, transported by air-conditioned buses.  No audition is needed for most courses, just an interest.  Other programs include instrumental and vocal music, dance, theater, visual arts, creative writing, nature and ecology, chess, organic gardening, fashion design and the new "Video Game Art and Design."
Open Houses give families a chance to obtain information and tour the campus.  The summer season runs late June to mid-August, in 7-week and 4-week programs.  Families who cannot attend an Open House may make an individual appointment.
