Measuring the Holy was commissioned by  Cantare Con Vivo of Oakland, California, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its children’s choir program. It is written for adult mixed chorus, treble chorus, flute, percussion, piano and strings. The texts are from these poets: Kazuaki Tanahashi, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Ibn’ Arabi, Mechthild of Magdeburg, Li Bai, Wendell Berry, Wintu songs, and Mass fragments.
