World of Many Colors! Winter Concert by The Santa Cruz World Choir & Orchestra. December 13, 7pm at the Rio Theatre, Santa Cruz, CA
The Santa Cruz World Choir & Orchestra, a multi-generational, multi-cultural choir and instrumental ensemble performs ancient to modern music from around the globe in a variety of languages. Our repertoire features selections from India, China, Latvia, South America, and Kenya as well as several original compositions and arrangments by the director, Stephen L. Bigger composed specifically for this concert.
This is the SCWCO first and only public performance in 2010.
Show time: 7 pm - 9:30 pm, doors open at 6:30 pm
Tickets: $15 advance $17 door $10 seniors and students with ID
The SCWCO consists of 30 singers accompanied by 17 musicians on strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, as well as world instruments under the direction of Stephen L. Bigger. Members include teachers and professionals and their students, families seeking opportunities to engage in creative, meaningful endeavors together. Regular season activities (besides weekly rehearsals) include local performances, recording, classes in a variety of subjects including Music Theory, Composition, Recording Production, Conducting, and Professional Artist Development for qualified individuals.
