California State University, Long Beach’s Top Choirs on Tour!
CSULB’s Bob Cole Conservatory of Music ensembles Chamber Choir and Pacific Standard Time present an evening of beautiful vocal music, offering a balanced mix of classical and jazz singing to their audiences. Under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Talberg and Christine Guter, the ensembles will be performing a variety of repertoire ranging from the thrilling, masterful writing of J.S. Bach to the incredible density and precision of Gene Puerling. As the flagship, award-winning vocal groups of California State University, Long Beach, the Chamber Choir and Pacific Standard Time are made up entirely of music majors, including opera, classical vocal performance, music education, jazz studies, and instrumental performance. Repertoire includes music by Russian, German, Italian masters and contemporary California composers Morten Lauridsen and Eric Whitacre, jazz arrangements by New York Voices and The Singers Unlimited.
