The University Glee Club of New York City is proud to announce their upcoming 233rd Members’ Concert on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 8:00 in Alice Tully Hall,Lincoln Center. The University Glee Club of New York City is an all-male singing group founded in 1894 "to encourage male voice singing of the highest excellence." They perform two major concerts each year at Lincoln Center and also participate in charity and community events around the city. Each year the club hosts an outstanding collegiate ensemble and this season we are tremendously excited to share the stage with the Yale Whiffenpoofs, recently of the 2010 NBC Sing Off fame. Founded in 1909, the "Whiffs" began as a senior quartet that met for weekly concerts at Mory's Temple Bar, the famous Yale tavern. Today, the 14 member group is one of Yale's most celebrated and hallowed traditions. Following their appearance on the NBC Sing Off, the Whiffenpoofs are now scheduled for a worldwide tour in the summer of 2011. Tickets($40) can be purchased through the Lincoln Center Website or by calling 212.721.6500 or TTY 212.957.1709
