SCHOLA SINGS SOLO RECITAL SERIES COMES TO THE VILLAGE
AND BAYONNE

Jersey City, NJ— January 11, 2011– Schola Cantorum on Hudson (SCH) continues its
2010-2011 season with Schola Sings Solo Recital Series performances. The cast of eight
professional singers offers an evening of entertainment with enormous stylistic variety.
Selections include solos, duets and small ensembles exploring the season’s overarching
theme of 'freedom'. Composers represented are Sondheim, Britten, Bernstein, and SCH’s
Featured Composer Wayne Eastwood.
Dr. Deborah Simpkin King, Artistic Director and Founder of SCH, says, “We are so pleased
to be offering the fourth installment of this annual series. Renowned Director Chuck
Hudson’s stagecraft makes this a must-see (and hear) experience for our audiences.”  Lisa
Laskowich provides accompaniment.   The shows will be performed:
 Saturday, January 22nd at 8:00 p.m., St. John’s in the Village, 218 W. 11th Street,
New York.
Saturday, January 29th at 8:00 p.m., St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, 979 Avenue C,

SCH is delighted to be bringing this series to St. Vincent de Paul in Bayonne for the first
time.  In the cast is Bayonne native Gilberto Go?mez who is excited to be back home
after performing in Mexico City.  Gilberto is now embarking on a new project that will
have him regularly traveling between Germany and the USA.  SCH is proud to have this
former SCH Choral Scholar singing with us again in the Solos series.
