Spend four music-filled days in Eugene, Oregon and come away refreshed, inspired and ready with new ideas for leading your high school choirs. This new professional development workshop is held June 24 - June 27 in conjunction with the Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy during the Oregon Bach Festival.
Under the guidance of University of Oregon professor Sharon Paul, teachers will participate actively in workshops led by SFYCA faculty and OBF musicians, and guest artist Maria Guinand of Venezuela. Participants will observe reharsals of the 80 plus high school singers of the SFYCA, directed by acclaimed conductors Anton Armstrong and Helmuth Rilling.
The workshop aims to help teachers:
Each full day of activities is divided between an in-depth seminar, attendance at rehearsals or classes of the youth choir, and evening concerts. Sessions take place on the UO campus or in Eugene's Hult Center for the Performing Arts.
The registration fee of $225 per person includes all workshop materials and concert tickets. For full program details and a registration form, see the pages at: http://oregonbachfestival.com/sfyca
