Oregon Bach Festival seeks High School Singers

Live and recorded auditions are now being held for the Stangeland Family Youth Choral Academy, a program of the Oregon Bach Festival conducted by Anton Armstrong.
The 80+ voice high school choir is open nationally to students who will be enrolled in high school in September 2011. Live auditions take place March 30 - April 9 at sites in Portland, Salem, Eugene, Medford, and Bend, Oregon. Recorded auditions can be submitted anytime now through March 11.
The SFYCA program includes classes and rehearsals with staff and faculty including Armstrong, Helmuth Rilling, Therees Hibbard, and guest conductor Maria Guinand of Schola Cantorum de Venezuela. Participants attend Oregon Bach Festival concerts and perform in concerts in Eugene and Portland.
The 2011 SFYCA takes place in Eugene, Oregon, June 22-July 3. Tuition and fees for accepted singers are $775 and include all sessions, sheet music, concert tickets and room and board in a University of Oregon dorm for the duration of the academy.
