Toronto Mendelssohn Choir combines forces with Canada's leading duo pianists James Anagnoson and Leslie Kinton to present an engaging concert of two major works by Johannes Brahms: Variation on a Theme of Haydn and Ein Deutsches Requiem. This guest appearance for the TMC is their first at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. It takes place on Wednesday March 30 at 8pm. Piano duo Anagnoson and Kinton are known for their virtuoso brilliance, balanced ensemble, musical clarity and stylistic assurance. In the first half of the concert they will perform Variation on a Theme of Haydn by Johannes Brahms for two pianos. In the second half of the concert Anagnoson and Kinton will combine forces with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir (TMC), soprano Jennifer Tavener and baritone Michael York for Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem (German Requiem). They will be performing the rarely heard arrangement for two pianos and voices arranged by Brahms himself. Ein Deutsches Requiemwill be conducted by TMC conductor Noel Edison.
