SCHOLA SINGS SOLO SERIES REPRISE PERFORMANCE
APRIL 1 IN MONTCLAIR, NJ
Jersey City, NJ— March 22, 2011– Schola Cantorum on Hudson (SCH) continues its 2010-
2011 season with a reprise Schola Sings Solo Series performance. The cast of eight
professional singers offers an evening of entertainment including a mix of arias, art songs
and show tunes. Solos, duets and small ensembles interweave to create an event with
continuous flow and enormous stylistic variety, while exploring the season’s overarching
theme of 'freedom'. Composers represented are Sondheim, Britten, Bernstein, and SCH’s
Featured Composer Wayne Eastwood.
Dr. Deborah Simpkin King, Artistic Director and Founder of SCH, says, “We are so pleased
to be offering this popular show a fourth time this season; and we are delighted to be
bringing it to St. Luke’s in Montclair which has welcomed us so warmly this season.” Lisa
Laskowich provides accompaniment. The show will be performed:
Friday, April 1, at 8:00 p.m., St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 73 South Fullerton
Avenue, Montclair, NJ.
Essex County singers include Artistic Director (mezzo) Deborah King, and sopranos Laura
Greenwald and Caroline L Sargent. Former SCH Choral Scholar Gilberto Gómez,
recently returned home after performing in Mexico City, is also part of the cast.
Gilberto has just accepted a singing contract that will have him regularly traveling
between Germany and the USA.
