"Giving Voice to Peace"-Youngstown, OH Community Choral Festival

Dear Colleagues, 
On Sunday  April 10, 2011, at 4:00pm over 300 local choristers and several musicians will join together to promote peace. Stambaugh Chorus will be the host of a choral event titled "Giving Voice to Peace" at Stambaugh Auditorium, Youngstown OH. Joining Stambaugh Chorus will be members of the Austintown Fitch High School Concert Choir, Beatitude House Children’s Choir, YSU Dana Symphonic Choir, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Men’s Chorus, Stambaugh Youth Concert Band, The Youngstown Connection, and the Youngstown State Gospel Choir.  Each group will share their talents and their interpretation of Peace. The finale will consist of ”Deep Peace” by Bill Douglas and “United in Song “, words and music by Paul Halley, and will include all singers under the direction of Dr. Hae Jong Lee. Gary Sexton of WYSU-FM will preside as Master of Ceremonies. In addition to the choral production, the local high schools in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties have participated in an art competition. The students were asked to express their perceptions of Peace. Judge Theresa Dellick from the Mahoning County Juvenile Court will present awards to the winners of the art contest on the day of the concert.
