Celebrate May Day with MCP at Carnegie Hall!

On May 1st, the Masterworks Festival Chorus will be performing John Rutter’s Requiem under conductor James Bass. Dr. Bass serves as the Director of Choral Activities at the University of South Florida School of Music. He is also the Artistic and Musical director of The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. He has joined us many times over the years and we look forward to welcoming his wealth of conducting experience back to the Carnegie stage. The Chorus will be joined by our own New York City Chamber Orchestra.

Alan Hightower will lead the National Festival Chorus at the opening of the concert. Visiting us from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where Dr. Hightower is Director of Choral activity and conducts the esteemed Nordic Choir. Singers from around the country will perform works by Handel, Orban, Morten Lauridsen, and more during the evening’s concert.
