Susquehanna Chorale's "Legends Among Us" featuring Alice Parker and Robert Page LIVE

Location: Pennsylvania, USA
Choir type: Chamber Choirs and Vocal Ensembles
Voicing: Mixed
The Susquehanna Chorale, nationally awarded choral ensemble, will offer a rare opportunity to experience the talents of prestigious artists Alice Parker and Robert Page – both choral-circle celebrities – to Central Pennsylvania audiences in a one-night-only performance on May 21, 2011 at The Forum, Harrisburg. Beginning at 7:00 pm, Page and Parker will join Artistic Director, Founder, and Conductor, Linda L. Tedford, in conducting the Susquehanna Chorale in an expansive program of their compositions. The Susquehanna Youth Chorale will also join in during two numbers.

The audience will have a chance to participate as Parker, who is famous for her “Sings,” will have everyone in The Forum singing. The program will also include Parker’s arrangements of “Bright Canaan,” “By’m Bye” and “Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ye.” Page’s repertoire includes arrangements of songs from Broadway musicals, including the music of Stephen Sondheim, Leonard Bernstein, Marvin Hamlisch, and Rodgers and Hammerstein. “Theta’s Thoughts,” an original composition originally written for the Robert Page Singers, will also be sung by the Chorale. The evening begins at 6:30pm with a pre-concert slide presentation about the artists, and will end with a talk-back session featuring Parker, Page and Tedford.
