YNYC Competition for Young Composers

Location: New York, USA
Choir type: Community Choirs
Voicing: Mixed
The Young New Yorkers' Chorus invites all composers under age 35 to apply for our annual Competition for Young Composers.  Since 2005, we have commissioned 21 pieces from rising stars of the choral world such as Joshua Shank, Peter Hilliard, Abbie Betinis, Jeni Brandon, Dominick DiOrio, and Ola Gjeilo, given these works their world premieres, and awarded over $12,000 in prizes.  Could you be next?  Please submit a resume and sample of your work, following the guidelines available at www.YNYC.org.

Finalists commissioned for the 1211/12 season will compose a new carol (celebrating a holiday or the winter season) to be performed in December, 2011 in New York City.
