The 2010-2011 season concludes with Blue Skies, Bluegrass, and Beyond—an innovative program featuring Musae in collaboration with local bluegrass musicians. Familiar classic rock songs, Appalachian gospel hymns, and folksongs will appear alongside madrigals, part songs, and contemporary chansons. Musae celebrates the nature that grows around us with Cornysh's "Ah, Robyn," Lauridsen's "Dirait-on," and Delibes' stunning "Flower Duet" from Lakmé, turns to the sky with Stanford's "The Blue Bird" and Nick Benavides' "A bird came down the walk," and looks beyond with the bluegrass hymns "Angel Band," "Swing Low," and others.
