Continuing its mission of bringing underexposed choral music for treble voices to NYC, this program highlights music from regions where Finno-Ugric languages are spoken, namely: Estonia, Hungary, and Finland. The choral music traditions of the peoples who speak these languages are ancient, varied, and unmistakable. Though the back log of folk music is immense, Accord selected pieces written by composers within the last century to highlight the vibrant, ever-expanding body of Finno-Ugric choral music.
The program will also include works in French (by Poulenc and Ibert), a variety of folk arrangements from various Eastern European nations, and several sacred works.
Do not miss this unique opportunity to experience treble choral music at its finest.
