On behalf of Corearte Proyectos Culturales and as President of the Association, it is my pleasure to invite your choral group to participate in our 5th annual International Choir Festival, Corearte Barcelona 2011, which will take place in Barcelona for the fifth year running.
This festival fulfils the main objective of our association, Corearte Proyectos Culturales: to offer opportunities for continuing education, integration and personal development to all participants in addition to enjoying the benefits and sheer joy of sharing music.
The various concerts programmed re-establish our commitment to offering a program centred on the musical diversity of the represented countries. The urban spaces of great architectonic and acoustic prestige such as Park Güell, Montserrat Abbey and Barcelona University halls have all been especially chosen to enhance the quality of the performance experience for all participants involved as well as for the visiting public.
In line with our commitments to providing opportunities for musical training and continuing education, we have strived to increase the effort and dedication applied in order to further develop the educational and pedagogical aspects of our Festival.
Workshops this year will be given by the following maestros:
Josep Prats – Catalonia, Spain – Catalan Choral Music
David Azurza - World Music for children’s choirs
Voicu Popescu – Romania – Orthodox Choir Music
Santa Susana, in the province of Barcelona, is the chosen location for the Festival accommodation. Set within beautiful natural surroundings and only fifty minutes away from Barcelona International Airport (BCN) this costal town has a very important hotel and tourist infrastructure. The pleasant Mediterranean climate and the friendliness of local people will ensure the most is made of all opportunities for social activities.
Within the "PROGRAM" section you can find a detailed list of all programmed activities. We have tried to include those sights we consider to be the most attractive and interesting for visitors.
With great enthusiasm and dedication, we have invested all our energy into the organisation of "COREARTE 2011" in the firm belief that it will aid in forming a greater understanding, facilitate communication, provide a sense of brotherhood, foment friendship and provide a platform for cultural exchange among all Festival participants.
It is with all this in mind that we extend our warmest invitation to take part in this international event. I do hope to see you in Barcelona, for Corearte 2011.
CARLOS VICTOR SESCA ELIZONDO, Festival president
