MIDDLETOWN, Pa. (June 23, 2011) / The Essence of Joy Alumni Singers are pleased to
announce the release of the first CD project. Entitled simply – ‘Joy’ – the album is the
culmination of years of recording and fundraising on behalf of the choir. “We’ve worked so hard
on this project and are thrilled to share it with our fans,” said choir President Brandon Miller.
The choir plans to sell both physical and digital copies of the CD starting July 15 at their annual
performance at the Central PA Festival of the Arts (Arts Fest).
Since their first performance at the Arts Fest in 2006, the Essence of Joy Alumni Singers (EOJAS)
appearance has come to be a highlight of the festival. The choir will present a concert on Friday July
15, at 7PM featuring music of the African and African-American tradition. The concert will take
place at the State College Presbyterian Church, 132 W. Beaver Ave., State college, PA. This
concert is open to the public and Arts Fest Buttons are required for admission.
“As an official Alumni Interest Group of the Penn State Alumni Association, we always
appreciate the opportunity to perform in State College,” said Miller. “It’s always wonderful to
host an audience with so many familiar faces.”
For additional information, please visit www.eojas.org. The choir would be happy to
accommodate any requests for interviews
