VOICES' Open Sing of "Great Hymns and Anthems of the Church"

Singers from the Princeton area and Bucks County, PA are invited to join the VOICES Chorale for an informal reading of the "Great Hymns and Anthems of the Church" including pieces such as "With a Voice of Singing", "When in Our Music God is Glorified"," "The Lord Bless You and Keep you," "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," and "The Hallelujah Chorus", among others. Scores will be provided.  Conducting the sing are Andrew Monath, VOICES' Associate-Conductor, Janice Chapin, choir director at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School, NJ. An ice cream social featuring fresh fruit and ice cream will follow the sing.
Suggested donation at the door: $5.
 
Audition possibilities for the next concert season will be held before and after the sing. If interested, please call Sandy Duffy at 609-799-2211, or write to auditions@VOICESChorale.org. The 2011-2012 concert season includes "Christmas from England, Scotland, and Wales" on December 17-18, an all Irish concert with tenor soloist Gerry Dignan on March 10-11, and a joint concert with the Bucks County Choral Society on June 10. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings from 7:30 - 9:45 pm at Music Together in Hopewell, NJ and will resume on September 12.
 
VOICES Chorale, an auditioned chorus with more than 60 members from New Jersey and Pennsylvania, was founded in 1992 to provide outstanding performance opportunities for community singers. The chorale performs an unusually varied repertoire, including choral masterworks and premieres by American composers, with three concert series per season in the Princeteon area and in Bucks County. VOICES also offers small group and solo opportunities, performing music from great composers of the past to contemporary compositions.
