Filing and Organizing Music

I am in the process of organizing all of my choral music.  As a student entering my final year and student teaching semester, I finally decided it is time to stop ignoring the rather sizable stack of music in my office.  I would love to hear what everyone has to say about organizing and filing my choral music.  Should I organize by composer, genre, voicing, all of the above?  Are binders a legitimate tool or should I get a filing cabinet (though transport of such would be rather difficult).  I have heard opinions from several colleagues and peers, but can always use more advice.  Thanks so much for your help and insight!
