Anonymous 4, Ensemble Amarcord, Escolania de Montserrat and the Tallis Scholars will be featured in the first hour of Great Sacred Music this Sunday beginning at 8 a.m. eastern. They will sing medieval plainchant as well as music by Poulenc, Casals and Taverner.
At 9 a.m. you can enjoy Cantata 178 by Johann Sebastian Bach. At 9:45 a.m. Paul McCreesh and Reinhard Goebel conduct the combined forces of Musica Antiqua Koln and the Gabrieli Consort and Players in a complete performance of Heinz Franz Biber's Missa Salisburgensis for 53 Voices. This glorious polychoral mass was written for the 1100th anniversary of the founding of the Archbishopric of Salzburg, Austria.
