St. Olaf Chapel Choir, one of St. Olaf College's oldest choral ensembles led by Christopher Aspaas '95, will share a service of Vespers based on the theme of Transformations. The Chapel Choir will share choral settings of texts from Mother Theresa and St. Francis, as well as Moses Hogan's beautiful arrangement of Abide With Me, Rachmaninoff's We Hymn Thee, and two new choral arrangements written especially for this event. Congregational hymns, readings, reflections, and the meditative music of the Vespers liturgy come together to create an evening of heartfelt song and spirit. The one hundred voices of the St. Olaf Chapel Choir comprise more than half of the majors offered at the College, and represent twenty-seven states, Turkey, and Thailand.

Transformations are often not instant, but a process. Notice how each day of this season we watch the leaves slowly change from their lustrous green to crisp, vibrant shades of yellow, orange, and red. So it is with our lives. We live through cycles and seasons of transformations. Our purpose is this worship and music event is to explore the many significant transformations that are possible in our lives through community, song, word, and prayer.
