Now in its third season, Accord Treble Choir invites you to a celebration of Hungarian choral music with Melodies of Magyar: The Sounds of Hungary. The program features sacred and secular works from the last century by nine Hungarian composers, including: Bartók, Kodály, Bárdos, and Orbán. The majority of these works are rarely performed in the US. (See program listing below.) Come experience the lush and complex harmonies, angular rhythms, and beautiful melodies that make Hungarian music unique and unforgettable.
Join us for one of two Manhattan concerts:
Friday, November 18, 8pm at the First Hungarian Reformed Church, 344 East 69th St., New York, NY
Sunday, November 20, 4pm at St. Ignatius of Antioch Church, 552 West End Ave., New York, NY
Accord will also be performing as a featured choir at the Eastern Division ACDA Conference in Providence, RI on February 17, 2012!
