Concert of Spanish & Portugese Renaissance Music for Advent & Christmas celebrating the 400th anniversary of Tomas Luis de Victoria.
A candlelit  feast of glorious choral music from the Golden Age of Iberian polyphony, celebrating 400 years since the death, in 1611, of one of Spain’s greatest composers, Tomás Luis de Victoria. Juxtaposed with Victoria’s sublime O magnum mysterium will be works by Cristóbal Morales, his most illustrious predecessor at the Spanish court, motets by his most famous Spanish colleague Francisco Guerrero, as well as villancicos and motets by Estêvão de Brito and Gaspar Fernández, Victoria’s Portuguese contemporaries. The audience will be invited to sing festive Spanish and Portuguese Renaissance carols for Advent alongside more traditional favourites
