Festival of Carols with Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Dec 7
Date: December 2, 2011
Location: Ontario, Canada
Choir type: Professional Choirs
On December 7th the 150-voice Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, under the direction of Noel Edison, will ring in the season with its annual holiday concert, Festival of Carols at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. The TMC, joined by the Festival Brass, organ and piano, will present a selection of festive music, including Bob Chilcott’s exuberant setting of The 12 Days of Christmas. The concert will also include contemplative music, including Eric Whitacre’s ethereal Lux Aurumque sung in the round. Stories for the season, told by narrator Richard Ouzounian, add to the festive mood and a carol sing-along will encourage the audience to add their voices to this welcome to the holiday season.
Richard Ouzounian is making a return as narrator for the evening. Ouzounian is well respected as a theatre critic, radio host, actor, theatre director and raconteur.
