December 11, 2011 at 7:30 pm - Please join us for the First Annual Christmas Concert given by traditional music ministry ensembles at White Plains United Methodist Church on 313 SE Maynard Road in Cary, NC. The concert feature works by Ralph Vaughn Williams, George Bizet, andTomas Luis de Victoriaas well as living composers, Carson Cooman and Russell McKinney. The Chancel Choir, Sanctuary Orchestra and Wesley Chancel Ringers are under the direction of Rusty McKinney, Director of Music and Arts at White Plains. Beth Laverty, Children's Music Director leads the Junior Choir and Bert Fox, Associate Director of Music Ministry leads Grace Notes, a chamber choir. Mac Pannill, organist is featured both in organ solos by J.S. Bach and Samuel Sebastian Wesley as well as on the flute as soloist in RVW's ever popular "Greensleeves." The Handbell Quartet will also be showcased in the second half of the program. Event is free and open to the public and there will be carols for the audience to join in singing. A free-will offering will be taken the proceeds of which will go to the organ fund at WPUMC.
