This Saturday, December 10, 2011, at 8:00 pm, San Geronimo Valley Community Center presents Solstice in an Outside the Box & Around the World A Cappella Holiday Concert, 
featuring unusual holiday songs from Sweden, Finland, Spain, France, England and more! With music from U.S. female composer Williametta Spencer, Swedish carol composer Gustaf Nordqvist, Spanish composer Guerrero, San Carlos composer Cortlandt Bender, music from France and Finland  plus some lighthearted fun with "Christmas Time is Here Again" by late Marin composer Vince Guaraldi, and Chanukah songs including multigenerational crowd-pleasing youtube hit "Candlelight" by the Maccabeats (based on pop hit Dynomite by Taio Cruz). 
 
Tickets are on sale now  Solstice has had many sold out shows at the Community Center  and quite honestly they love us best (really they think we have the best audiences anywhere) so please plan ahead!

The female septet will select from a repertoire of 16 languages and 9 centuries including world folk, pop, classical and more. Solstice won the 2007 San Francisco Regional Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella competition and award for best original arrangement and also placed in the top 3 at the legendary national Harmony Sweeps A Cappella Competition.
