Piano Accompanists

Can anyone share with me the best places to post an opening for a position for a high school full time piano accompanist?

I am in Michigan and already know of:

MSVMA
ACDA
CHORALNET

But I am unaware of any other sites.

Thanks!

Michigan has a lot of square miles. It is highly unlikely that the position you want to advertise is going to pay enough for anyone to consider moving from where they are now to where you are. I certainly understand why you might want to search "far and wide" for candidates, but I think you'll have better luck looking more locally. Are you near any music schools, or schools with good music departments? You may be able to find a recent graduate, or cobble together a schedule for a couple part-time accompanists (perhaps grad. students) to fill your full-time position.

Good luck.

Good point. Thanks for the advice. The job does include health care and a pension, but it is still an hourly position. I was mainly looking for a pianist type site that would be similar to ACDA or MSVMA.

Have you tried pianoaccompanists.com?

Check out the music department at area colleges, universities and conservatories. Most will be able to post job listings for you.
Good luck!

Post the job opening in your local music stores, at churches in your area, call and ask other high school directors.  Can you post it on your district website?    Wish I lived in Michigan......would post for the job myself.

Don't know the answer to your question, but I am super jealous that you can hire a FULL TIME ACCOMPANIST! Man, I can hardly even get an accompanist, and then paying them is another question all together. I'd love to live in your area, so I could be your accompanist! Good luck on the search.

You may want to check at local churches.  There may be a pianist/orgainst that is part time at the church who would like to add a full time position playing.

it might help to post where in Michigan you are located.  I looked at the classifieds under employment: accompanists and didn't see your name advertising a position.
