Making Music with Ruth E. Dwyer
March 23 & 24, 2012

Ruth E. Dwyer, Associate Director of the renowned Indianapolis Children's Choir and their Director of Education, is highly involved in curriculum development, program development and assisting and mentoring their teaching staff. Ms. Dwyer is also a frequent guest conductor and clinician for festivals, conferences, colleges and universities across the United States and abroad, as well as a published composer, choral arrange and editor. She is dynamic and inspiring with both children and adults.

This exciting weekend learning opportunity allows participants to observe Ms. Dwyer as she works with a selected choir from LAUSD school, then work with her directly during a reading session, putting her methods to work and experiencing them first-hand. On Saturday, she'll work with an SBCC choir and four others, selected from across Southern California, as they prepare music for the festival concert in the afternoon.

Schedule:
Friday, 3/23 --  6:30pm to 8:45pm
Saturday, 3/24 -- 9am to 4pm

Who should attend?
Any music teachers, choral directors and conducting students who work with children. You'll share lunch with Ruth as part of a roundtable discussion, and network with colleagues who share your passion for music education and choral singing. You'll hear and sing choral literature for elementary and middle school choirs, and learn teaching methods and techniques that can be used immediately with your own choirs.

Sign up by March 6 to be guaranteed a music packet.
