Lux Aeterna - A Lenten ConcertDate: March 13, 2012 Views: 1379 Location: Minnesota, USA Choir type: Chamber Choirs and Vocal Ensembles Voicing: Mixed
CORO! is an 'ensemble of vocal soloists' directed by Artistic Director Dr John-Scott Moir and Assistant Conductor Dr. Douglas Thompson. CORO! was started five years ago. Since its inception, CORO! has continued to gain recognition, and this year is no exception. We have been chosen by Minnesota Sinfonia, Duluth Festival Opera, and Minnesota Concert Opera as their choral ensemble of choice, and last year featured La Scala Soprano Barbara de Maio, in an Evening of Italian Opera.
CORO's Lenten Concert is entitled "Lux Aeterna" and will be a sacred music concert, with Morten Lauridsen's work of the same name as our major choral piece. Other works are by Brahms, Kverno, Bruckner, and Verdi.
Concert is at two locations:
7:30 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5029 Zenith Ave. South in Minneapolis, Saturday, March 17. 2012,
and
4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran ELCA, 499 W. Charles Street in St. Paul. Sunday, March 18th, 2012.
Both concerts are free-will offering. Concert will last roughly an hour. Parking is available at both venues
