The St. Peter's Choir, Third & Pine in Philadelphia, presents "From Here to Eternity," (don't all choral concerts have to have a cute title these days?) on Sunday, March 18, at 5:00 p.m.
Six motets of Tomas Luis de Victoria will be partnered with works on similiar texts/themes by contemporary composers, including Grayston Ives, Calvin Hampton, Ross Bernhardt, Greg Jasperse, and Philadelphia-area composers James Lavino, Kile Smith, and Robert Maggio.
The St. Peter's Choir (founded 1761) is an intergenerational ensemble with boys and girls as well as professional and volunteer adults. The choir is directed by Peter Hopkins. Organist Paula Pugh Romanaux will accompany as well as play Anton Heiler's "Ecce lignum Crucis." There is no admission charge, an offering will be taken to purchase additional music for the choir.
