Peninsula Women's Chorus: Journey to SpringDate: April 5, 2012 Views: 910 Location: California, USA Choir type: Community Choirs Voicing: Women
Join us on a magic ride, from the primal spells and incantations of "Urok" by Lojze Lebič, to Claude Debussy’s delightful salute to spring, "Salut Printemps". Slovenian repertoire from our recent European tour is also featured alongside a special American section which includes settings of e.e. cummings' poetry in Vincent Persichetti's Spring Cantata and Kirstina Rasmussen’s "in time of daffodils". We are thrilled to present the world première of Ripple by Ted Hearne, commissioned in honor of our 45th anniversary. Other program highlights: "Revecy venir du printans" by Claude Le Jeune; "I Thank You God" by Gwyneth Walker; "Bendición" by Pablo Ortiz; Song-Gatherings by Eric Tuan, a PWC co-commission.
