Psalms are ancient threads that run through Jewish, Christian, and Muslim scripture and have been set to music around the world. To celebrate this multicultural fabric and its Jewish origins, the Twin Cities Jewish Chorale, under the leadership of Artistic Director Sara Cowan, will present a Concert of Psalms. The Concert of Psalms will include Palestrina’s polyphonic counterpoint in Latin, 19th century choral works in Hebrew and English, an ancient Sephardic melody arranged for chorus in the 18th century, a modern Brazilian work, and a South African psalm setting in Zulu. Joining the Chorale to celebrate the interfaith bond created by the psalms will be its special guest, the Choir of the St. Anthony Park United Church of Christ, directed by Brian Fahey.
