Five Hebrew Love Songs - A little more detail?
Date: April 20, 2012 by Melodie Henderson Views: 2053
In the intro notes written by Eric Whitacre in the score for "Five Hebrew Love Songs," he mentions that each song "captures a moment that Hila and I shared together." He mentions "Kala kalla" is a pun, and that the pitches that open "Eyze Shelleg" are those of bells he and Hila heard in Germany. He also refers to the text of each poem as a 'postcard.'
So, my question: Have either Eric Whitacre or Hila Plitmann ever disclosed more details about what each of the 5 songs describe/represent in terms of a 'postcard' or moment shared together? Where could I find such information? Any help would be appreciated.
