Choral Music by Beth Anderson at Brooklyn, New York’s St. John’s Episcopal Church on June 10

Beth Anderson’s Magnificat will be featured in a special Evensong service on Sunday, June 10 – 4:00 PM, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 139 St. John's Place in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Performers will be the St. John's Choir with Cryder Bankes, organist.

The non-traditional poetry for Ms. Anderson’s setting was taken from Enriching Our Worship, 1997, rather than from the King James Bible. A PDF score of Magnificat with piano reduction is available from Jeffrey James Arts Consulting. Contact them at jamesarts@att.net with inquiries.

Beth Anderson’s music has been described as having “a refreshing simplicity without naiveté” and as “deeply felt, direct, and yes, beautiful” and “charming and deeply felt to the point of romanticism.” Her latest CDs are recordings by Nancy Boston of September Swale as part of American Women: Modern Voices in Piano Music and Aleksandra Maslovaric’s recordings of Belgian Tango and Tales #1 & #3 for violin and piano on Feminae in Musica.
