Encore Creativity for Older Adults is proud to present our fifth annual Encore Institute at Chautauqua Institution, Chautauqua, New York, August 26 - 31, 2012. All participants are 55+. If you enjoy choral singing, acting or dancing, this is a perfect way to end your summer at a gorgeous location. Encore Chorale, the nation's largest and fastest growing choral program for older adults will be conducted by Founder Jeanne Kelly and Barry Talley, retired Director of Musical Activities at the United States Naval Academy. Dr. Stu Kandell, Founder of Stagebridge Theatre, the nation's oldest theatre for older adults and David Barnet of the University of Alberta will return to lead the theatre participants and Shula Strassfeld of Dance Exchange will guide dancers.
Institute participants will join forces to present highlights of Westside Story.
Singers, actors and dancers will lodge and dine at the famous Athenaeum Hotel. Days will begin with movement classes, then full rehearsals and technique classes. Evening concerts feature the West Shore Piano Trio and the Young People's Chorus of Erie. Participants will be able to take a daily class out of their chosen track.
A grand finale concert will be presented Friday afternoon, August 31.
