Location: Illinois, USA
This year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Choral Music Experience Institute! From its humble origins at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL, this marvelous professional development program devoted to choral teacher education has touched the lives of conductors, music educators, young singers and audiences around the world. To many, CME has been more than just a summer course; it has provided us with both the materials and the tools to inspire our imaginations and expand our artistic, educational and cultural horizons.
In honor of this prestigious milestone, the 2012 CME Institute at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI will host a 25th Anniversary Party on Saturday, July 21st at 8pm. To RSVP or for more information on the 25th Anniversary Celebration or the CME Institute itself please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
The CME Institute for Choral Teacher Education was founded in 1986 by Doreen Rao, then Music Director of the Glen Ellyn Children’s Chorus and her composer colleague, Lee Kesselman. The annual professional development courses for conductors and music educators focus on choral repertoire, voice and movement skills, conducting and rehearsal pedagogy. The CME Institute’s innovative and inspirational summer programs are dedicated to the music of emerging composers and the artistry of choral educators seeking to develop and refine their conducting and teaching skills in the company of artists and in a community of colleagues.
