A Sibelius appoggiatura question.

Could one of you Sibelius experts explain to me how to create a quarter-note appoggiatura (to a main half note)?

thanks,

Dear Jon,

Create a half note and then, using the second Keypad, create an eighth note appoggiatura (it's the second from the left on the top line). Then highlight the appoggiatura you just created. To create the quarter note press the number 4 on your computer's keypad (not the one along the top of the keyboard). This will change the value to a quarter note.
If the resulting quarter note is too far away from the half note then highlight the ornament and, using shift+alt (together) move the note using the sideways arrows - right for closer, left for further away.

This works for me on a Mac and I think it's the same on a PC.

Hope it helps.

On a PC:

create your half note and highlight it
go to second page on keypad and click on the eighth note appogiatura
go back to 1st page on keypad and choose quarter note - this changes the eighth note appog. into a quarter note appog.
Place it and you're done!

Stuart and Becky, thanks to both of you. Both systems worked and I'm back in the Mozart business.

Much appreciated,
