Hudson Chorale (Westchester Co, NY) Accepting New Members in September

Choir type: Community Choirs
Voicing: Mixed
After a thrilling live performance of Paine’s Mass in D in May, Hudson Chorale is welcoming new members in preparation for its 2012-2013 season.  Singers in all voice parts (SATB) are invited to join Westchester’s largest mixed-voice choral group for an exciting January 26, 2013 concert.  It will feature an eclectic program for chorus and strings including Mozart’s Missa Brevis in D Minor and excerpts from Porgy and Bess, with a little Mendelssohn, Sondheim and Whitacre thrown in.  The May 11, 2013 concert will be an all-Beethoven program with full orchestra featuring the Mass in C and other pieces. The chorus’ goal is to provide both audience members and singers with the best possible experience in choral singing, offering a repertoire that ranges from the great masterpieces to contemporary compositions.  Singers looking for a new or additional choral family are encouraged to consider the Hudson Chorale.

Michael Conley is the Music Director of the Hudson Chorale.  Mr. Conley enjoys a multi-faceted career as a conductor, composer, pianist, organist and singer.  In addition to serving as Music Director of the Hudson Chorale, Mr. Conley is the Music Director of the highly popular West Village Chorale and the Judson Memorial Church in Manhattan.

Rehearsals for the upcoming season will begin on Monday, September 10, 2012 from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm and will take place on subsequent Monday evenings at the Scarborough Presbyterian Church, 655 Scarborough Rd (Route 9), Scarborough, NY.  “Singer-friendly” auditions will take place Thursday, September 6 by appointment and on subsequent Mondays prior to rehearsal.
